The Perfect Dress

I never imagined my wedding or dress, I just knew little things that I wanted to happen on that special day. The one thing I did know was that my dress would not be expensive. I continuously told Mom that since we WAY over-did it for Prom on the price of my dress, I ABSOLUTELY REFUSED to spend anywhere near that cost because I just felt it was such a waste....HOWEVER, things change when you fall in love with a dress =)...actually I went above and beyong that cost =( I hated to do it but My Mom refused to get anything else...she said, "this is it and I'm getting it"~  So here's how the day went...

I woke up one morning to get ready for class and my mom said, "Brittany, I want you to go to Frills and Fancies in Statesboro and look around in there and see if you see anything and then I want you to come home and we're going to David's Bridal...and we're going to find a dress =)" Since I hadn't been shopping for a dress yet...I said "Sure Thing"! I went to Frills and Fancies and looked...BUT they just weren't me, so I came home and Me, Mom, and My Mother-in-Law left to go pick out a dress! =)

We arrived at David's Bridal and I was very nervous one because I had no clue what I wanted and 2 because I was afraid the assistant would have to help me dress haha...I am a very modest person, I DO NOT like to dress in front of people,...SERIOUSLY you're talking to a girl who got dressed in a cabinet at a Beauty Pageant haha. It's not that I have anything to hide, it's just I'm just not that comfortable with people staring at parts that don't need to be stared at =). Anyways so they asked to pick out 4 dresses to start with and we'd go from there. That was hard enough, as I said before I had no clue, so we just started grabbing. I tried on, with no help=), 2 dresses that just weren't me, then I grabbed one that I really didn't think I'd like, and BOY was I was wrong! It was the one. I stood in front of that mirror forever picturing my day! No, I didn't cry, nor my mom, nor Mrs. Diane, we were just too Happy to cry! With me being the emotional person that I am, I was shocked but it just didn't hit me like that, it just made me happy!  Since it fit perfectly, We took the dress, veil, jewelry, and shoes home that day! I was one happy lady=)

So that's my dress story<3

Engagement

It had been a rough day for me. Absolutely nothing was going right at all. I got home to wrap the presents for the Christmas Party at the Moore's with my family and the Hills and it took me way longer than expected to get everything together. I had been running around trying to make it on time at 7, but it just wasn't happening. I finally finished wrapping at 6:45pm and ran upstairs to change clothes and get ready. On my way to my room, I noticed Brandon playing the playstation so I asked him, "are u going to be ready by 7?" He replied, "Yes" so I finished getting ready and ran downstairs to pack everything up. I grabbed quint's present which was wrapped in a blanket...(too big and not enough time to wrap so I grabbed my zebra throw haha. to wrap around it)...anyways I ran outside to throw it all in the car and the throw flew open and everything fell out all over the ground =(...so I picked everything up and it's now 7:05 by the way, and threw it in the car and here comes Brandon yelling, "Brittany what you do with my presents"? Again I repeat it's 7:05 and he's had all this time to look and he chooses NOW to start? So I run inside to help look and after about 10 min. we find them. =( I get in the car and take off to the Moore's. When I walk in I'm greeted by Quint who says he needs to go get his drumsticks from the church in order to play Rockband later, and asks if I want to join? So I went and while we're there I'm yelling at him to not worry about cutting on the lights at the church I could see without them but he insisted on running up to the soundroom to "turn them on"...so I keep yelling at him and then I noticed that it got brighter behind me on the stage so I turned around and up on the powerpoint screens it read, "Brittany Will You Marry Me?" and I turned around and he was standing on one knee with the ring!!! I said Yes and we ran to show it off and to tell my Mom who had no clue because I requested her not knowing. It was killing my dad who was asked and told the previous Sunday night by Quint, not to tell her. I highly suggest to those who aren't yet engaged to tell your other half to not tell your mothers before...it's a wonderful moment to share with your Mothers...we both cried so hard and were sooo excited!!! Anyways that's about it. Other than the simple fact that he had the ring since August!!! For those who know Quint..it's nearly impossible for him to keep presents a secret! I was very proud! =)

Our Story

I first met Quint when I started going to First Baptist Church of Pembroke, GA at 4 years old. He and his older brother Tyler became my 2 older brothers, Bobby and Brandon's Best Friends. So we spent a LOT of time together. They would come over all the time and we grew up more like brother and sister than anything. In fact that's how I would introduce him to people...I would say, "He's like another brother of mine"...WOW I know...Little did I know that the day after I turned 16, July 24, 2004, he would see me as a young lady, rather than his best friend's little sister. I have to admit, I always knew he was the one for me, from the first day I met him. We clicked more than anybody I'd ever known. No other guy compared to him, Seriously. I dated different guys, but no matter what, it was like my mind would always say, "He's not Quint"...it was very odd because I knew Quint thought of me only as a friend but for some reason my heart wouldn't accept that =). ( Thank Goodness for that) I started feeling a little psychotic for it haha but when I turned 16, I realized that he was the one for me and that no one else would do.
So we started "Talking" trying to hide it from everyone at first because we really didn't know how to let it out. This was a huge deal for those who knew us and Brandon was going to be the hardest of all to tell, of course. But in the end he accepted as well as the rest of our families...in which they all loved the idea. He asked me to be his girl on December 22, 2004 after The Hill, Moore, and Creech annual Christmas party....and he was nervous as all get out =) soo sweet. We dated 5 years straight and on December 22, 2009 at another Hill, Moore, and Creech annual Christmas party, he asked me to be his wife (again nervous as all get out) and made me the happiest woman on Earth! =) He literally is a dream come true for me!
